NFL Lockout: Not Extending Talks Would Be A ‘Shock’ At This Point

The NFL owners and NFL Players Association spent the morning at the federal mediator’s office in Washington D.C. and, once again, we don’t know what kind of progress they’ve made. NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith left the building before 1:00 p.m. (ET) and thanks the fans for being patient as they continue to work.

So that’s where we stand right now. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweets the expectation as of now is that another extension will occur.

Anything less than owners agreeing to extend talks would be a shock; then take weekend off before resuming Monday is expectation.

So that extension would likely be for 7-10 days. As we explained previously, the players have agreed to the extension -- the owners have not.

So the ball’s in the owners’ court right now.
