Who is the most disappointing team to root for?
Detroit Lions Are NFL’s Hardest Team To Root For
If you guessed the Detroit Lions, you're correct -- at least going by numbers distributed by the Business Journal.
The Fan Difficulty Index was released this week which is a ranking of how difficult it is to root for a team. The numbers are based on record in the last 10 years and things like years since a championship and how deep in the playoffs a team has gotten.
The Lions came in at the top as the most disappointing team to root for. With no playoff appearances in the last 10 years, and without a title in 53 years, it’s easy to see why they’re No. 1.
Rounding out the top five is the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
Of those teams in the top five, the Lions may be the ones most likely to make a playoff appearance in 2011. They're absolutely on the rise and have the offensive weapons to do some damage, providing QB Matthew Stafford can stay healthy all year.
On the other end of the spectrum, the New England Patriots are the easiest team to root for. With three Super Bowl titles in the last decade alone, it’s easy to see why.
