Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison's verbal firebombing of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has been making headlines for a couple days now. And that's a headache for an agent.
James Harrison Interview Mostly ‘Bravado,’ Says Agent
Bill Parise, Harrison’s Pittsburgh-based agent, did his best to act agent-y and downplay the severity of the comments Wednesday.
“A lot of it is bravado,” Parise told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I think people have to be careful not to read that and think those statements are anything more than expressions of feelings, particularly in regard to the commissioner. The commissioner fined James $100,000 last year. What do you want him to say, he’s my best friend? James is a tough individual, and that’s the type of language he uses.”
No one will ever accuse of Harrison of lacking bravado. It’s Roger Goodell’s bravado, especially once the lockout is over and the commish has to decide whether or not to keep those fines coming, that everyone’s waiting to see.
