The New Orleans Saints have reportedly agreed to a two-year contract with former Chargers’ RB/KR Darren Sproles, filling the hole left by the Reggie Bush trade.

Darren Sproles Contract Worth $14 Million Over Four Years, According To Report

Right. Like Reggie Bush, Sproles isn’t an every-down back, but will run on occasion and catch passes out of the backfield. He’s actually probably better, though (he’s averaged 4.6 yards per carry in his career, while Bush has averaged 4.0), and he’ll cost less per year than Bush is getting in Miami. Sproles has the advantage of being so small that he isn’t always easy to see when he’s behind his linemen - he certainly isn’t the prototypical every-down back, but that might not be a bad thing. He’ll also help out on kick and punt returns.
