Green Bay will bring back James Jones for three more years thanks to a little lobbying by some influential teammates, according to a report.

Until Saturday, it looked like Jones might be headed to the Minnesota Vikings. But the Vikes landed a veteran receiver in Michael Jenkins. However, lobbying from Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver might have made all the difference, not to mention helped Jones land a long-term deal. Jones’ agent confirmed Rodgers and Driver stepped up to put in a good word for their teammate.
In four years with the Pack, Jones has 2,069 yards receiving and 149 catches. He had his best season since his rookie year during Green Bay’s Super Bowl run, contributing 679 yards and five touchdowns. He also pitched in 144 yards and a pair of scores in the postseason.
