So Roy Williams has a dilemma that some men have been facing for a long time.
Roy Williams’ $76,000 Marriage Proposal Rejection
Man asks girl to marry him. Man presents ring. Girl rejects proposal. Girl keeps ring. Man wants ring back.
In Williams’ case, the details are interesting, to say the least. Williams was dating a girl and mailed her a ring along with a surprise marriage proposal. She rejected his proposal but kept the $76,000 ring.
In a signed affidavit, Williams says that the woman, Brooke Daniels, later claimed the ring was lost.
Williams said in the affidavit that he asked for the ring to be returned until Daniels claimed six weeks later that she had lost it, at which point he reported it lost to his insurance agency. The insurance investigation revealed that Daniels' father, Michael Daniels, had the ring. He is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
It appears that this story will have as happy of an ending as it can -- the father plans to give the ring back to avoid the lawsuit.
I guess this is what you get when you mail a $76,000 ring. A tip for Roy Williams: do this sort of thing in person.
