Max Jean-Gilles Signs One-Year Contract With Bengals

Free agent offensive lineman Max Jean-Gilles has signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals worth $1.15 million.

Free agent offensive lineman Max Jean-Gilles has agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to reports from ESPN's John Clayton. The contract is reportedly worth $1.15 million over one-year. The deal also includes a $250,000 incentive clause based on playing time, according to The Enquirer's Joe Reedy.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, Jean-Gilles entered into the league immediately facing adversity. Many considered him to be a top prospect, yet his draft stock drastically fell due to an inability to control his weight.

Jean-Gilles made his debut with the Eagles a year later, replacing an injured Shawn Andrews in the starting lineup. The 27-year-old proved effective in limited action, eventually becoming a mainstay in the Philadelphia offensive line. In four years of action he played in 42 games while starting in 26.
