Ty Warren, Denver Broncos Agree To Terms, According To Report

Former Patriots defensive end Ty Warren has landed with the Denver Broncos.

Adam Schefter tweets that the Broncos have signed defensive end Ty Warren, formerly of the Patriots.

Broncos land former Patriots DE Ty Warren with a 2-year, $10 million deal that includes $2.5 million guaranteed.

Warren had also been connected to the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. He was released by the Patriots last week. He counted $5.9 million against the salary cap, which appeared to be a potential reason for his release, but the two sides apparently never came close to reaching a deal for less money. Warren told the Boston Herald that the Patriots wanted to "go in a different direction."

Warren missed the 2010 season with a hip injury, but that injury was not career-threatening. He was a first-round pick by the Pats in 2003. He had 20.5 sacks from 2003 to 2009, including 7.5 in 2006.

The Broncos had previously been connected to Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora.
