Giants Vs. Jets: Jets Lead 7-3 At Halftime

Coming out of the two-minute warning, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez connected with wide receiver Santonio Holmes on a 17-yard touchdown pass to give the Jets a 7-3 lead over the New York Giants at halftime of tonight's preseason game at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants had opened the scoring three minutes earlier on a 34-yard field goal by Ryhs Lloyd, who is handling the field goal duties for an injured Lawrence Tynes (thigh). Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie responded with a 68-yard kick return to set up the Sanchez-to-Holmes touchdown.

Turnovers were the story of the first half, with Eli Manning tossing a pair of interceptions, which along with his 48 percent completion percentage has compiled a 37.8 passer rating on the night. Manning's first interception ended a nine-play, 50-yard drive that had reached the Jets' 27-yard line. Inside linebacker David Harris' inside blitz forced an early throw, which landed in the hands of safety Jim Leonhard.

Harris, who signed a four-year, $36 million contract earlier this month, notched the second interception at midfield. The Jets would squander the opportunity when a fumble by Sanchez was recovered by Giants linebacker Clint Sintim.

Tonight’s game was originally scheduled for Saturday night, but was postponed until tonight due to Hurricane Irene. A moment of silence was held before the game for those who lost their lives during the weekend storm.
