The New York Giants came up empty in their first two second-half drives during tonight's preseason game against the New York Jets, who responded with a 1-yard touchdown by rookie running back Bilal Powell early in the fourth quarter to give the Jets a 14-3 lead.

A 10-play, 84-yard drive by the Giants ended when No. 3 running back Danny Ware was stopped by Jets safety Brodney Pool and linebacker Josh Mauga on a fourth-and-one play from the Jets' one-yard line. Jets cornerback Kyle Wilson and linebacker Nick Bellore combined on a touchdown-saving tackle on Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz on third down.
The Jets gave punter T.J. Conley some breathing room to get off a 52-yard punt, but the Giants still took possession at midfield. No. 2 quarterback David Carr and backup running back Andre Brown drove the ball down to the Jets' 13-yard line, but Carr took an 11-yard loss when he was sacked by Bellore. Rhys Lloyd's second field goal attempt of the night was blocked by Jets defensive end Jarron Gilbert.
Jets rookie quarterback Greg McElroy engineered a nine-play, 68-yard drive that ended with Powell’s plunge into the end zone.
The Jets took a 7-3 halftime lead on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Mark Sanchez to Santonio Holmes late in the second quarter.
