A couple weeks ago QB Peyton Manning received a $90 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts and earlier this week QB Michael Vick inked a $100 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The next big quarterback signing could be QB Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.
Drew Brees Contract Talks With New Orleans Saints Have Started
Drew Brees is entering the final year of his contract and he has been in “ongoing” contract discussions with the Saints.

Brees confirmed to the New Orleans Times-Picayune that the two sides have had “ongoing” discussions about a new deal.
He signed a six-year, $60 million deal with the Saints in March 2006 so he’s entering the final year of his deal. He’ll blow past his previous contract numbers and should become one of the top paid quarterbacks in the NFL, perhaps even higher than the deal Vick received.
“I did see it,” Brees said of Vick’s deal. “It looks like a nice contract. Obviously I don’t know any of the details other than the six years and $100 million.”
Brees is clearly the most important player to the Saints so he deserves everything he’ll eventually receive. He’s 32 years old, which is getting up there in the NFL world, so that’s something that will have to be factored in.
