Raiders running back Darren McFadden will miss "a couple weeks" with a broken orbital bone, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Darren McFadden Breaks Orbital Bone, Could Be Sidelined Two Weeks
Darren McFadden is the latest casualty in Raiders camp, which is missing most of its top offensive skill players.
“Darren has a little small fracture of his orbit,” coach Hue Jackson said. “So he’ll be out a couple weeks. It’s interesting because last year he was out a couple of weeks and it was a hamstring. Just little things here and there, and he’ll be fine. We’ll get him back out here and keep on rolling.”
McFadden got hit in the face by Quentin Groves while making a block in practice, though it's still unclear if that was when the bone broke.
With Michael Bush not having reported to camp yet, and Michael Bennett, Taiwan Jones and now McFadden injured, the Raiders are down to Rock Cartwright and Louis Rankin as their only healthy running backs in camp.
The Raiders are also without tight end Zach Miller, who left to sign with the Seahawks; wide receiver Jacoby Ford, who has a broken hand; and fellow wideout Louis Murphy, who was "nicked up." A lot of NFL teams are practicing shorthanded right now, but the Raiders are currently missing three of their top four rushers and their top four pass-catchers from 2010.
