Dallas Cowboys Give TE Jason Witten Five-Year Contract Extension
The Cowboys have given TE Jason Witten a five-year, $37 million extension that will keep him in Dallas through the 2017 season.
The Cowboys official site announced that Witten signed a five-year, $37 million extension with the team. The deal includes $19 million in guaranteed money.
He had two years remaining on his current deal (as did Ratliff, interestingly enough) so this keeps him in Big D for another seven seasons.
“I am blessed to say that I will retired a cowboy! Thx to the jones family and all the cowboys staff! True honor to put on the star!! #gameday.”
Witten is one of the best tight ends in the game and has bene a safety net for Cowboys quarterbacks since the Cowboys drafted him in the third round of the 2003 draft.
This is a move that’s making the Cowboys fans over at Blogging The Boys very, very happy.
