Steven Jackson is still day to day as he recovers from a strained quad. Jackson missed Monday’s game, the St. Louis Rams’ first Monday Night Football appearance since 2006. Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said yesterday that he was “hopeful” Jackson could play this week when the Rams return home to face the Baltimore Ravens.
Steven Jackson Injury: Rams Hopeful That Jackson Can Play This Week
Jackson did not practice at all last week, but refused to be ruled out for the Rams’ week 2 game against the Giants. He went through a pregame workout to make a final determination about his status for the week, but hit a stumbling block while trying to run a 40-yard dash.
Jackson’s absence called for some reshuffling among the running backs. Cadillac Williams assumed the primary role. Jerious Norwood picked up some additional carries in relief, and rookie RB Quinn Porter took over kick returns.
