Michael Vick Injury Update: Eagles QB Participates In Walkthrough, Reportedly Doesn’t Practice

Michael Vick participated in the Eagles' morning walkthrough Wednesday morning, a good sign in his recovery from a concussion suffered Sunday against the Falcons. From USA Today:

"He went through the walkthrough this morning," Philadelphia coach Andy Reid said in a conference call with reporters for the Giants, the Eagles' opponent Sunday.

"He is feeling good and has to just go through the process."

Participating in the non-contact walkthrough is a good first step, but it does not appear that he’s been cleared to practice. The team’s official practice and injury report has not yet been released, but early reports on Twitter indicate that he did not participate. “Vick is jogging around gingerly and watching, tossing a football with Doooooooce,” tweeted Reuben Frank, who covers the Eagles for CSNPhilly.com. “Vick will be listed as did not participate. He’s just out here watching.”

Earlier in the day, Eagles head trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters that Vick is currently symptom-free, although he cautioned that symptoms may still re-appear later in the week. “Just because he doesn’t have symptoms today doesn’t mean he won’t have symptoms tomorrow,” Burkholder said. “You can’t predict.”

An MRI conducted on Vick was negative, but he’s still scheduled to visit an independent neurologist at some point this week.
