Michael Vick suffered an injury to his non-throwing hand last weekend and, despite reports he would be out for multiple weeks, is reportedly “likely” to play in Week 4 against the 49ers.

So we’re still in the early stages of determining whether he can play but it appears, at least according to this report, that the 3-4 weeks diagnosis is inaccurate.

One day later, Vick thought better of his criticism. Speaking with reporters as he left the Eagles’ practice facility on Monday, he softened his stance:
Whether he’s sincere or not, it’s the smart move -- publicly shaming the officials was never a good strategy for trying to elicit their protection. But while this mini-controversy resolved, the big question still remains: will Vick be healthy enough to start in Week 4? Or will the hand contusion that sparked his outburst put him on the shelf? After giving it a go, Vick finally took a seat on the bench as Mike Kafka entered the game. Kafka promptly threw an interception on the first play from scrimmage and the Eagles ended up falling to the Giants, 29-16. It’s unclear how long Vick will be out, but back-to-back injuries in consecutive weeks must have Eagles’ fans’ stomachs in a knot.

Just days after being cleared to return after suffering a concussion last week, Vick found himself getting hammered by the Giants defense today. In the third quarter he left the game, but did finish the drive. He went to the Eagles locker room for x-rays which revealed the broken hand.
Mike Kafka replaced Vick in the game, and threw an interception on his first throw in the fourth quarter. Vick ended his day with 176 yards passing on 16 completions in 23 attempts. He threw one interception and no touchdowns for the day. The Giants lead the Eagles 22-16 late in the fourth quarter.
