Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel suffered a rib injury last week in the preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers but early indications are that he’ll be OK for Sunday’s Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills.

That’s largely a pain tolerance issue so you have to think Cassel would play if it were his decision alone. In fact, he’s already told reporters that he’s going to play in Sunday’s game against the Bills. Chiefs coach Todd Haley confirmed Cassel was a full participant at practice on Monday.
Those two things would suggest that Cassel’s likely to play on Sunday. The Chiefs will come out with their practice reports on Wednesday and Friday and make a decision on Cassel’s status on Friday. I would expect him to be listed probable.
