NFC Divisional Playoffs, Giants Vs. Packers: Prince Amukamara Could Replace Aaron Ross In Starting Lineup

With New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross undergoing the NFL's concussion protocol policy, first-round cornerback Prince Amukamara could be pressed into a starting role in this Sunday's NFC Divisional Playoffs game against the high-powered Green Bay Packers passing offense, Hank Gola of the New York Daily News reports.

The 19th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, Amukamara’s NFL career got off to a slow start. The former Nebraska Cornhuskers standout was the last draft pick to sign a contract and suffered a broken bone in his foot in one of his first practices, causing him to miss the first nine games of the regular season.

Amukamara appeared in the final seven regular season games, totaling 14 tackles and picking up an interception in his NFL regular season debut. Amukamara had two tackles in relief of Ross in the playoff win over the Atlanta Falcons and expects to be ready to play against the Packers.

“I was in there the first game we played Green Bay,” he said. “I really don’t see the big difference but it is a playoff game and everyone rises to a whole new level. I just know I’m going to be ready.”
