The Detroit Lions won't have much time for jitters in their first playoff game in 11 seasons, not when they have to travel to New Orleans to play Drew Brees and the Saints.
NFC Wild Card 2012: Detroit Will Have To Beat New Orleans In The Superdome
The Saints went 8-0 at home this season, including a 31-17 victory over the Lions in Week 13.
The Saints have been unbeatable in the Superdome this season, going 8-0 while scoring 42.4 points a game, an NFL record.
New Orleans high-octane passing offense is designed to win home shootouts, with Brees breaking Dan Marino’s 27-year old single-season passing record, throwing for 5,476 yards, 46 TD’s and 14 INT’s this year.
It couldn't be a worse match-up for a Lions pass defense that allowed Green Bay second-string QB Matt Flynn to set Packers' franchise records for yards (480) and TD's (6) in their 45-41 loss on Sunday.
However, Detroit can take some consolation in their Week 13 loss at New Orleans, when they allowed only 31 points, the third-lowest mark the Saints have scored at home all season.
