Though the Detroit Lions will be playing the franchise's first NFC Playoffs game since 1999, against the same New Orleans Saints team that defeated them by two touchdowns in the same Mercedes-Benz Superdome one month ago, they have not and will not adopt an underdog's mentality, Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports reports.

“I don’t think we concede anything,” Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said....“There’s no one [in the playoffs] by accident. We have good players too.”
Longtime Lions center Dominic Raiola, who went through the first ten years of his career without sniffing the post-season, was more blunt.
“Screw the disrespect card,” said Raiola.
SB Nation editor Andrew Sharp comments on the Lions being “insulted by the idea that they should be insulted”. Speaking of disrespect, Preston Gary at Canal Street Chronicles takes issue with the Saints not getting the coveted Sunday match-up, and extra day of rest, due to the size (or lack thereof) of the media market.
