Ben Roethlisberger Injury: Steelers QB Had A Setback In Week 17

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a "little setback" with his sprained left ankle during the team's 13-9 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

“I felt really good going in the Cleveland game,” Roethlisberger said on Wednesday. “I had a little setback early in the third quarter, so we’re working really hard right now with the trainers and doctors to get back to even where we were before the Cleveland game.”

Roethlisberger missed the Steelers' 28-0 win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 16, but with the AFC North title and a possible first-round bye on the line, the two-time Pro Bowler played against the Browns. Roethlisberger completed 23-of-40 pass attempts for 221 yards against the Browns, which turned out to be a meaningless game as the Baltimore Ravens clinched the AFC North and a first-round bye with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers will already be without leading rusher Rashard Mendenhall, who was lost for the season to a torn ACL, and will need a mobile Roethlisberger to beat the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Broncos first-round linebacker Von Miller and veteran defensive end Elvis Dumervil are both headed to the Pro Bowl after combining for 21 quarterback sacks this season.
