NFL Playoffs, Lions Vs. Saints: Calvin Johnson Returns To Practice

The Detroit Lions had a very encouraging sign at their Thursday practice. According to the team's injury report, the Lions had all of their starters on the practice field for the first time this week. That includes wide receiver Calvin Johnson who missed practice on Tuesday and Thursday.

The likelihood of Calvin Johnson missing the team's first playoff game since 1999 was probably a little far-fetched to begin with, especially since Detroit is playing the New Orleans Saints. The return of two defensive starters, safety Louis Delmas and cornerback Aaron Berry, were the more notable returnees to the practice field today.

Delmas missed the last five games after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. According to the report from the Lions, Delmas was able to go through the full range of motion, the kind of moves he will need against the Saints’ aerial attack, with no problems. Berry has been dealing with a shoulder injury.
