NFL Playoffs Predictions: Bengals Are Underdogs But Can Beat Texans

The Cincinnati Bengals will go on the road to play the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card game on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC. Like most fan bases, the Cincinnati community feels they have a legitimate shot at winning on Saturday.

We asked our Bengals blog, Cincy Jungle, why the Bengals will win and why they’ll lose:

Why the Bengals will win: During their week 14 meeting at Paul Brown Stadium, the Cincinnati Bengals forced two fumbles against the Houston Texans' offense within two minutes of each other, early in the fourth quarter while sporting a commanding nine-point lead. The second was a fumble recovered by the Bengals, returned to the five-yard line where Geno Atkins lost control of the ball that Houston eventually recovered at their own two-yard line. Houston was forced to put together consecutive 13-play drives, turning a nine-point deficit into a one-point win in the fourth quarter.

Why the Bengals will lose: The Bengals have struggled all season closing out games against teams that eventually made the playoffs, going winless in seven tries. Though the losses were all within a score, save for the second game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals will have to prove that they can surpass that milestone.
