The Houston Texans are hosting the Cincinnati Bengals in the first AFC Wild Card game of the year. The usually explosive offense went three and out giving the ball back to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals Vs. Texans 2012: Houston Offense Can’t Move The Ball On First Drive
Arian Foster, the Texans leading rusher, had one carry for five yards and also got hit with a false start penalty setting the offense back five yards. Foster is clearly going to be a key for the Houston offense in this game, especially with rookie T.J. Yates at quarterback.
Foster also came awfully close to coughing it up, which would have been disastrous for Houston.
Ben Tate, the Texans other running back, also had a five yard run in the series. Like Foster, Tate is an important part of the Texans offense. They rush the ball so often Foster needs help and Tate is a very good partner.
The Texans and Bengals are at no score through one drive in this AFC Wild Card game.
