Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson Lead Lions To Halftime Advantage Over Saints

The New Orleans Saints were double digit favorites over the Detroit Lions yet the Saints enter halftime losing to Detroit, 14-10. The first half story lines include the Lions passing offense, which has been solid, and the Saints' turnovers, which they've done twice.

Matthew Stafford has completed 14-of-22 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. He hasn't turned it over and they've been picking up yards in big chunks. Calvin Johnson has five of those receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. The Lions offense has been playing well enough to win, and maybe that could (as long as Stafford continues playing turnover-free football).

The Saints have turned it over twice in the first half -- a first quarter Marques Colston fumble and the Drew Brees fumble. The fumble by Brees was close but it appeared the officials got it right ruling it a fumble. The Saints offense has been moving the ball but they just can't punch it in.

The Saints haven’t lost at home this season so the Lions are trying to do what no one else has done this season.
