Lions Vs. Saints 2012: Drew Brees Puts The Nail In The Lions Coffin

The Detroit Lions were able to pull the game within two scores, but the New Orleans Saints made sure to put the nail in the coffin after a failed on-sides kick. The Lions stuffed the Saints on a first down run, so the Saints decided to just throw the ball deep. Quarterback Drew Brees connected with wide receiver Robert Meachem for a 41-yard gain down to the Detroit 1-yard line.

The Saints tried to hit tight end Jimmy Graham in the endzone, but couldn't complete the pass. Running back Pierre Thomas punched the ball in the endzone this time, pushing the Saints lead to 45-28 over the Lions. On the night, Brees has 466 passing yards and three touchdown passes.
