Indianapolis Colts running back Donald Brown will be out for 2-3 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair knee cartilage, according to a report from the Indianapolis Star. Brown hurt his knee on the final offensive play for the Colts on Sunday when he scored on a two-point conversion.

The bad news comes as the Colts are fresh off an emotional 30-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers, their first game after learning head coach Chuck Pagano has leukemia.

Brown is the Colts’ leading rusher this season, running 60 times for 239 yards and one touchdown. The fourth-year pro from Connecticut has 1,662 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns for his career.

Rookie Vick Ballard is expected to start in Brown's place as Indianapolis travels to play the New York Jets (2-3). The 5'10" running back out of Mississippi State has just 21 carries for 42 yards in his young career. He also has one reception for four yards.
