49ers vs. Jaguars in London does not surprise
The San Francisco 49ers will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in London’s Wembley Stadium in 2013. As a home game for the Jaguars, the 49ers were one of a handful of opponents who fit the inter-conference, non-division opponent typical of the NFL International Series.

The Rams were scheduled to play in London for the next three seasons, but will back out after playing the New England Patriots in Week 8.
SB Nation's 49ers blog Niners Nation points out that this choice isn't surprising. It's considered a home game for the Jaguars, and since International Series opponents tend to be inter-conference, non-division teams, Jacksonvile's likely London opponent was either the Chiefs, Chargers, Cardinals or San Francisco. With San Francisco's recent success, moving their game to London makes sense from a promotional standpoint.
San Francisco has previous experience playing in the London game, having done so in 2010. They lost to the Denver Broncos, 24-16. The last time the 49ers faced the Jaguars was Week 6 of the 2009 season, with San Francisco winning, 20-3.
