Patriot-Seahawks is Week 6’s Hot Ticket

Tickets are going for an average of $506 on the secondary market to see the Patriots visit Seattle, according to TiqIQ.

Another week of NFL action is coming our way, and it isn’t getting any less crazy. We still have two undefeated teams in each conference with the Texans (5-0) running the AFC and the Falcons (5-0) dominating the NFC. With that said, there is still a ton of parity in the league today, and every matchup seems to carry some weight. Let’s dive right into the top five price NFL contests for week six, as we try to figure out which games are most worth tuning into or even attending:

1) Patriots @ Seahawks | Avg Price: $506 | Get-in: $195 | Weekly Trend: +4%

Big shocker here, but the New England Patriots making their way into Seattle is the Seahawks’ most expensive home game of the year. That’s right, Tom Brady and co. carry a bigger stick than the Green Bay Packers, and they’re not bashful about it.

As if Seattle’s gritty defense wasn’t a big enough show by itself, the Patriots bring in their explosive offense to make things even more interesting. New England has put on an offensive clinic the past two weeks (52 points in week four) and will surely test Seattle. Look for Marshawn Lynch to see a lot of work as the Seahawks try to control the clock while their defense does it’s best to rattle Tom Terrific.

2) Packers @ Texans | Avg Price: $477 | Get-in: $184 | Weekly Trend: +5%

This is the definition of a big-time NFL game. The Packers have gotten off to a sluggish start (2-3) to open the year, but are still an elite team on paper that will likely lay it all on the line on the road against the Texans. On the flip side, Houston survived their first scare of the year last week against the Jets and are still unscathed on the young season.

Not surprisingly, this is the highest price Packers road game AND the most expensive Texans’ home game. Turns out Aaron Rodgers and co. are a pretty big draw - not to mention the fact that the Texans look to be even better than the playoff team they put together last year, and have yet to lose a game. These teams are extremely well matched on paper, allowing this game to go either way. This will either be a case of the Packers saving face and getting back to .500, or a major statement to the league by the Texans that they are very much a threat to win it all.

3) Cowboys @ Ravens | Avg Price: $446 | Get-in: $175 | Weekly Trend: -3%

Much like the Texans/Packers battle, this is the most expensive road/home game for both teams involved. It’s no shocker, either, as the Ravens have little trouble getting their devoted fans into their seats, and Tony Romo and a very talented Dallas team brings a lot of firepower to a potentially riveting story line.

The Ravens defense hasn’t been quite as formidable as in the past without pass-rushing demon Terrell Suggs, while the Cowboys (2-2) have been limping around the league ever since knocking off the defending champion Giants in week one. This is a game the Cowboys absolutely have to have, but one that Baltimore isn’t likely to easily relinquish.

4) Giants @ 49ers | Avg Price: $310 | Get-in: $117 | Weekly Trend: -5%

The ticket prices for some of these games say different, but this matchup between the Giants and 49ers might be the one most worth watching this week. Not only is it a rematch of the hard-fought NFC title game of a year ago, but the 49ers are rededicated to ripping offs heads after a week three loss to Minnesota, and New York has looked far better since a sloppy week one.

Naturally this is San Francisco’s most expensive home game on the schedule, as it carries so much weight, and their other huge game (against the Packers) already happened and was on the road. It’s also a 78% higher than the Niners home average, 83% higher than when these two teams met last regular season at Candlestick, and the most expensive conference championship game rematch in the last three years.

The 49ers have to be the favorites here simply because they’re more balanced, are at home, and have the better defense. But as we learned in last year’s playoffs, what’s on paper isn’t always what the final score will reveal. This will certainly be one everyone will want to tune into.

5) Broncos @ Chargers | Avg Price: $237 | Get-in: $64 | Weekly Trend: -27%

Bitter division rivals right here, folks. Line up for a blood bath that could literally have either team emerge as the victor. Obviously we’ve got the draw of the ageless Peyton Manning here, but having Philip Rivers and Ryan Mathews on the ticket adds to the value, as well. With that said, we all know this is about the AFC West, as the Broncos aren’t where they want to be at 2-3 and San Diego is trying to avoid their hot/cold starts at 3-2. A Denver win could quickly make the AFC West a complete toss-up.
