The saga continues. NFL Network's Albert Breer tweeted Friday morning that all four of the suspended New Orleans Saints players from the summer's bounty scandal have appealed their recently reissued suspensions from commissioner Roger Goodell. Friday was the deadline for the players to do so.
Suspended players file appeal in Saints bounty case
Jonathan Vilma and the rest of the suspended Saints and former Saints appealed the recently reissued suspensions handed down by commissioner Roger Goodell.

Breer also tweeted that the players were avoiding the enforcement of the appeals, and that the latest appeals were a stopgap solution.
Goodell reissued the suspensions for Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, defensive end Will Smith, free agent defensive end Anthony Hargrove and Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita.
Hargrove, if he finds a team, faces a reduced two-game suspension, Fujita’s penalty was reduced to a single game from three, Smith’s suspension stayed at four games and Vilma remains out for the season, though his status on the PUP list will now allow him to collect a paycheck.
The players have been repeatedly implicated in an alleged pay-for-pain scheme. The league's investigation also resulted in the season-long suspensions of head coach Sean Payton and St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.
