Bengals vs. Browns, Week 6: Cincinnati’s performance Sunday hurts postseason chances

The Cincinnati Bengals turned the ball over four times as they lost to the Cleveland Browns Sunday, 34-24. The win is Cleveland's first win of the season.

Quarterback Andy Dalton was responsible for all four turnovers. He was intercepted three times, including one returned for a touchdown by Browns cornerback Sheldon Brown, and fumbled with less than three minutes remaining to cost Cincinnati any chance at a comeback. Dalton was 31-of-46 for 381 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

Wide receiver A.J. Green performed well, catching seven passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns, however, his effort was in vain as the Bengals offense could not overcome the mistakes.

The Bengals running game once again lacked significant production. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who ran for 62 yards on 16 carries Sunday, has yet to top 100 yards on the ground this season.

Josh Kirkendall of SB Nation’s Cincinnati Bengals blog, Cincy Jungle, expressed the frustration of all Bengals fans, saying the chances are bleak for any postseason run in Cincinnati.

Two weeks ago following a 27-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, there was enough optimism to suggest that the Cincinnati Bengals were picking up momentum for a postseason run this year. Instead they've collapsed into an overflowing cesspool compounded by lackadaisical effort, poor execution and uninspired football that essentially collapses any reasonable forecast for a postseason berth, further capturing distributing trends extending from last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The 3-3 Cincinnati Bengals look to get back on track against the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.
