Patriots vs. Seahawks, Week 6: Seattle’s air attack breaks out in upset

The Seattle Seahawks shocked the New England Patriots at home Sunday afternoon, scoring 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to steal a 24-23 victory in front of their home crowd.

With Seattle's touted defense giving up 475 yards to the Pats, Russell Wilson and the air attack was forced to take over for the Seahawks to remain in the game. And that's exactly what the rookie quarterback did, having his best game as a pro with 293 yards and three touchdowns without an interception.

Here’s what Field Gulls, SB Nation’s Seahawks blog, had to say about the team’s offensive explosion in Week 6:

“Speaking of improvement, Seattle’s offensive attack, despite struggling in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, took advantage of a markedly more vulnerable (than what Russell has seen over the first five games) pass defense of the Patriots to open up their explosive passing game, hitting on six passes of more than 20 yards...These big plays were integral in this game because the rushing offense never really got a strong foothold and because they coughed the ball up twice.”
