Texans can still be happy even after losing to Packers

Houston Texans defensive end Antonio Smith believes the team can take comfort in their 5-1 record and look past their loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday night.

The Houston Texans perfect season came to an end Sunday night with a sound defeat at the hands of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, 42-24.

But despite the blowout loss, Houston can take solace in their AFC best 5-1 record. When asked by KGOW in Houston with John and Sean whether the team can look past Sunday’s loss and feel comfortable with their early season success, Texans defensive end Antonio Smith responded with a resounding “yeah”:

“Oh yeah a lot of people would’ve been pretty happy about it and it’s just one game. I think there’s a lot that we can take from this game, especially when we watch the film and judge ourselves accordingly and regroup for what I think is probably the biggest game when it comes to us in the AFC, which is this week.”

The game Smith is referring to is Houston's matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. The Ravens and Texans both have playoff aspirations, and Sunday's game could potentially have implications on postseason home-field advantage. Smith called the upcoming contest with Baltimore "the game of the year."

Houston holds a comfortable lead in the AFC South. The second-place Indianapolis Colts are more than two games back with a 2-3 record.
