The San Diego Chargers seemed like they were in total control at halftime, leading 24-0 and clamping down on the Denver Broncos. But in the second half the team collectively melted down, committing six turnovers, with quarterback Philip Rivers being responsible for all of them.

The San Diego Chargers had to be pretty displeased in blowing a 24-point halftime lead to the Denver Broncos, as Philip Rivers was responsible for four interceptions and two turnovers.
The San Diego Chargers needed this win, after losing in spectacular fashion to the New Orleans Saints last week, to prove to everyone that they were for real. What they ended up proving is that they can't do much of anything besides stop the run, and it has become a well-known fact that if you sell-out against the Chargers running offense that Philip Rivers will eventually gift you with a turnover (or 6) to get your back in the game.
What a terrible night for the Chargers, their coaches, their players, their fans and anyone that was hoping that Philip Rivers' mistakes in 2011 were just a temporary thing. They were/are not. They are a very real problem that is still undefined and, therefore, unfixable in the foreseeable future. It is what it is.
With San Diego up 24-7, a fumble by Rivers off a Denver sack allowed Tony Carter to scoop up the football and run 65 yards for a Broncos touchdown. After Denver cut the lead to 24-21 early in the fourth, Carter would pick off Rivers to set up a Broncos quick score. Two turnovers later, Rivers would throw his fourth interception on the night, this one going to Chris Harris. Harris went the other way 46 yards to seal up a 35-24 victory for Denver. Rivers would fumble the football twice to go along with his four interceptions.
