Week 7 NFL picks: Saints vs. Buccaneers

Various Internet experts weigh in on who will win the Week 7 showdown between the Saints and Buccaneers.

The New Orleans Saints will try to start a climb out of the NFC South cellar with a trip to Florida to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, and experts are split on which team will grab the win.

At 1-4, the Saints finally got in the win column two weeks ago against the San Diego Chargers, and travel to Tampa Bay after a bye week. On the arm of Drew Brees, New Orleans is the most pass-heavy team in the league. Ranked first in passing yards but near last in rushing, the Saints have Brees passing 47 times per game. However, Brees is completing just 59% of his passes, well below his 66 percent career average.

Unfortunately for the 2-3 Buccaneers, they rank second-to-last in the NFL in passing defense, giving up 312 yards per game through the air. Tampa's mediocre offense came to life last week, totaling 463 yards in a 38-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Josh Freeman passed for 328 yards and three touchdowns on just 15 completions.

The experts at CBSSports.com are split, with four pickers on each side, and it’s the same split picture at Yahoo! Sports as well. But the ESPN.com experts breaks the tie. While Adam Schefter and Tom Jackson pick the Buccaneers, the other 12 predictors choose the Saints.
