NFL Injury Report: Packers’ Greg Jennings could miss a week

The Chicago Bears were one of a few NFC North teams to not suffer any huge injuries in Week 4.

Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Monday night's 34-18 victory over the Dallas Cowboys not only helped the Chicago Bears improve their record to 3-1 overall but was done in a healthy manner. Despite starting a banged up Matt Forte at tailback, the Bears (3-1) exited Dallas with no players listed on the injury report.

Another NFC North team to come out of Week 4 healthy was the Detroit Lions, who received positive news regarding defensive end Cliff Avril on Monday. The 6'3, 260-pound pass rusher had an MRI done on his back and it came back negative. The Lions (1-3) have a bye in Week 5, and it's expected Avril will rest his back and re-evaluate it for the Week 6 showdown at the Philadelphia Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers (2-2) could be without veteran wide receiver Greg Jennings (groin) for their game Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Jennings re-aggravated the injury in the Packers' 28-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Head coach Mike McCarthy hinted Monday the team could rest Jennings at least a week.

Safety M.D. Jennings could be another player Green Bay could be without Sunday. Jennings suffered a shoulder injury this Sunday and did not return.

The Minnesota Vikings (3-1) are dealing with a handful of injuries that forced players to miss Sunday's contest against the Lions; however, they did not lose any more. Wide receiver Michael Jenkins is seemingly fine after suffering a rib injury and is expected to play next week.
