Legedu Naanee released by Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins released Legedu Naanee and picked up veteran Jabar Gaffney to try and find a solution at the WR position.

NFL teams aren't usually wont to make roster moves in the regular season unless they're predicated by injury (or arrest, or both... it happens), but the Miami Dolphins aren't interested in your conventional methods of team management.

The Fish switched wide receivers on Tuesday, cutting Legedu Naanee and signing Jabar Gaffney. Naanee has been the target of media and fan scorn for his diminishing value on the field, and his fumble in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals was likely the breaking point.

Miami turns now to a veteran journeyman and former Florida Gator in Gaffney, who was most recently cut by the New England Patriots in August. The former first pick of the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft has played with five teams over ten years, and posted 947 receiving yards with the Washington Redskins in 2011.
