Titans vs. Bills, Week 7: Tennessee fans pleased with Chris Johnson

The Tennessee Titans rallied for a 35-34 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, thanks in large part to the magnificent and dominant performance of running back Chris Johnson.

Johnson, who rushed for over 2,000 yards in 2009 and has struggled to regain that magic, had his best game in nearly three years while rushing for 195 yards on just 19 carries with two touchdowns. The rushing performance kickstarted the Titans to drastically improve upon what had been the statistically-worst rushing attack in the NFL.

http://www.musiccitymiracles.com/2012/10/21/3535160/recap-titans-defeat-the-bills-in-another-thrillerwaxed poetic about the grand performance by Johnson, as well as that of the offensive line clearing the way in front:

CJ ran like a madman for the first time in two years. He was lighting quick, decisive at the line and elusive in the open field. This was the first game in a long time where CJ had that extra gear once he got to the second level. When he’s running like that, we can hang with any offense in the league, regardless of the QB (more on that to come).

The offensive line unit is finally coalescing into a group somewhat worthy of their coaches’ pedigrees. Don’t be scared, but I’m actually not going to complain one bit about that dude who plays RG... They did a very good job keeping Hasselbeck clean, and they did a phenomenal good blocking. It was especially noticeable how much better Harris and Velasco were at getting to the second level.

Johnson now has 496 yards rushing on the season good for a 4.5 yard average on 110 carries, scoring twice in the first game of the season in which the running back reached the end zone.

The Titans move to 3-4 on the season and have now won two games in row after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 26-23, on Oct. 11. Tennessee will next face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Oct. 28.
