Steelers vs. Bengals, Week 7: Steelers get clutch performances in first road win

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't looked like the usual Steelers this season. That wasn't the case on Sunday night when Pittsburgh used a strong running game and tough defense to earn a 24-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.

For as much as the Steelers have been plagued by injuries on the offensive line and at running back, it didn't seem to make much of a difference against the Bengals. Left guard Willie Colon opened up holes for the running game all night, allowing Jonathan Dwyer to rush for 122 yards, giving Pittsburgh its first 100-yard rusher this season.

On defense, cornerback Ike Taylor blanketed wide receiver A.J. Green, according to Behind the Steel Curtain:

Taylor sounded off on his weekly radio show about criticism he’s received lately and he turned in one of the finest performance of his career. He played disciplined, aggressive football, not committing a penalty, and challenging one of the game’s best receivers.

Taylor held Green in check, allowing only one catch (though it was a touchdown) for eight yards on six targets. The game marked the worst performance of the season for Green, who had at least five receptions and 58 yards in every game prior to Sunday.

The Steelers, now with "new breath," will look to go over .500 when they face the Washington Redskins at home in Week 8.
