Nate Burleson says Lions prepared for Bears defense

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson thinks that the Detroit Lions are prepared for the Chicago Bears defense in Monday night’s game.

Detroit Lions' wide receiver Nate Burleson says that his team is prepared to play against the defense of the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Burleson, in an interview with the Afternoon Saloon show on ESPN Chicago, does say that the Bears' defensive unit has great chemistry and is very well coached:

“The reason they’re so good at what they’re doing is because they have to run the same defense. They have that chemistry with the unit of guys that are together. The coaching staff knows their players and puts them in the right positions to be successful.”

He also made special mention of the defensive backs on the Bears’s defense. That extra bit of aggression is something that Burleson and the rest of the receivers on the Lions are going to have to deal with:

“And on top of that, the DBs play the ball like receivers when it’s in the air, which means we have to be that much more aggressive when the ball’s thrown to us.”

Finally, Burleson talked about last week's victory against the Philadelphia Eagles and whether or not that could be the win that helps turn their season around:

“It was one of those [defining] moments. I don’t want to call it the [defining] moment of the season, but we knew that we needed that game in Philly and they played a great game up until that point.”

The Lions enter this game two games back of the Bears for first place in the NFC North Division. The game between the two teams is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET from Soldier Field in Chicago, and will be televised nationally on ESPN.
