Carolina Panthers defensive back Chris Gamble has been placed on injured reserve, according to Will Brinson of CBS Sports, because of a shoulder injury he suffered a few weeks ago. Gamble has not had the best season this year, recording only 15 total tackles, eight of them solo, with two passes defended in four games played.

Carolina Panthers defensive back Chris Gamble has been placed on season-ending IR due to a shoulder injury.

Gamble was originally drafted by the Panthers in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft with the No. 28-overall pick. Over his nine-year NFL career, Gamble has intercepted 27 passes, most all time in Panthers’ franchise history and has forced four fumbles in his career.
Fellow defensive back Captain Munnerlyn started for the Panthers on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. So far this season, he has recorded 16 tackles, one interception and four passes defended. The Panthers next game will be against the Chicago Bears next Sunday at 1 p.m. at Soldier Field in Chicago.
