The Washington Redskins lost their top tight end Sunday for the rest of the season, as Fred Davis tore his Achilles tendon.

Washington’s starting tight end Fred Davis is done for the year after tearing his Achilles, DeMarco Murray likely won’t return next week from a sprained foot, and London Fletcher suffered a slight hamstring sprain.

Davis ruptured his Achilles, the largest and biggest tendon in the body, in the team's Week 7 game against the New York Giants. Such injuries typically take a rather long time to heal, so the team immediately added him to the injured reserve list. To bolster its tight end depth, the team added fan favorite Chris Cooley to its roster.
The Redskins also lost a key defensive player, although London Fletcher's injury is significantly less dire: the linebacker suffered a slight hamstring strain. He's questionable for next week's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pierre Garcon's injury, reported as potentially involving a torn tendon in his foot, still has him listed as questionable, although reports indicate he could be out several more weeks.
The Dallas Cowboys probably won't have DeMarco Murray back after he sprained his foot Week 6: he sat out this past week against the Carolina Panthers and is doubtful for next week's matchup with the New York Giants. Two players had to leave the game for Dallas and are questionable for next week: linebacker Sean Lee sprained his right big toe and did not return, while center Phil Costa was carted off the field after an ankle injury.
The Giants placed Da'Rel Scott on short-term injured reserve before this week's matchup, meaning he'll be out at least six weeks. They didn't suffer any major injuries in their game against Washington, but Kenny Phillips and Rocky Bernard are questionable for next week.
The Philadelphia Eagles were on bye this past week.
