Sean Payton believes Saints will turn things around

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said in an interview on Tuesday that he believes the Saints will turn things around before the season is over.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton was interviewed by WWL in New Orleans on Tuesday. While being interviewed he discussed whether or not the Saints can turn their season around. Payton believes they can, bringing up the team's experience from 2007:

We go back to ‘07 when we started out 0-4 and we came back and won four games in a row then to get to .500. Now, we’re a better team today than we were in ‘07. The one thing we did learn in ‘07 - it took a lot of energy to turn that around though.

Currently, the Saints are on a two-game winning streak, having defeated the San Diego Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in consecutive weeks. The Saints play at the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. The Saints then follow that game up with a Monday Night game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 5.

The Saints play the current NFC South leading Atlanta Falcons twice in Nov., once on Nov. 11 and the other game two weeks later on Nov. 29. While the Saints have the best passing offense in the game, averaging 335 yards per game thanks to quarterback Drew Brees, they have the last-ranked rushing offense in the league, averaging 76.2 yards per game. The Saints' defense is also allowing a lot of yards, ranked No. 30 against the pass and No. 31 against the run.
