Jay Cutler on Ndamukong Suh hit: ‘I’m fine with it’

Jay Cutler doesn’t think Ndamukong Suh’s hit on him was dirty.

David Banks

Jay Cutler said Ndamukong Suh's hit that knocked him out of the game for one possession versus the Detroit Lions on Monday was not dirty, according to Brad Gagnon of SportsRadioInterviews.com.

Cutler said it was an “awkward fall” more than the hit that briefly knocked him out of the game as he fell with Suh’s knee and the ball caught against his ribs as he fell to the ground.

Cutler missed the final possession of the second quarter on Monday after he was violently taken down by Suh. Cutler returned to lead Chicago to a field goal on the opening possession of the third quarter to extend his team’s lead to 13-0. Cutler finished the game 16-of-31 passing for 150 yards and one touchdown.

In response to Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall calling the hit “dirty,” Cutler replied: “I’m fine it.“

The Bears quarterback has passed for 1,359 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 56.7 percent of passes this season. Cutler has led the Bears to a 5-1 start to the season which has them in first place in the NFC North.
