The Minnesota Vikings will try for their sixth win of the season on Thursday night against a visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers team.
Tampa Bay almost upended New Orleans last week, but an illegal touching penalty wiped out what might have been the game-winning touchdown. The Buccaneers spent big on free agents during the offseason, bringing in big ticket players like Vincent Jackson and Carl Nicks. A 2-4 start qualifies as a disappointment, but this is a team capable of surprising.
Thursday’s game will be broadcast by the NFL Network, but fans in the local market will be able to see it even if they do not have a subscription to the cable channel. The league’s broadcast contract calls for primetime Thursday and Monday games to be shown on local broadcast affiliates, while the cable broadcast itself it blacked out.
