Yahoo's Michael Silver shared Monday that there are "some league executives and coaches" who feel that there might be something wrong with QB Philip Rivers' throwing arm following the San Diego Chargers' miserable 7-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns Sunday.

Some higher-ups around the NFL have reportedly expressed concern about Philip River’s throwing abilities over the past couple weeks.

Silver is one of the few pointing the blame directly at Rivers instead of calling for Norv Turner’s head, so this analysis is undoubtedly quite interesting. Here’s what he had to say on the subject in his most recent column:
“Last year, when Rivers suffered a huge dropoff in play from previous seasons, I thought he might be concealing an injury, but the quarterback assured me he wasn’t. Arm strength was never Rivers’ forte, but even with an unorthodox delivery he found a way to get the ball out quickly and effectively. Is his arm shot, or semi-shot? I hope not, but as the Chargers’ once-promising season careens toward ugliness, the situation bears watching.”
Rivers has had an up-and-down 2012 campaign but the past two weeks have arguably been the low point of his nine-year career. After tossing four second half interceptions to squander 24-0 halftime lead against the Denver Broncos, Rivers and company could only manage two field goals against the Browns.
Overall, Rivers finished the game going 18-for-34 with 154 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions as most of his throws were getting to their intended targets quite late.
Like Silver said, there was some concern that Rivers might be playing through an arm injury last year, but he quieted those theories with a strong finish to the season. Nevertheless, after starting the 2012-2013 season with only one 300-yard passing game so far, it’s fair to wonder if Rivers’ best days have already come and gone.
