Rams hope to end 6-year under .500 drought

The Rams host the Cardinals Thursday night (8:20 p.m. on NFL Network) looking to end a remarkable six-year streak of being under .500.

The St. Louis Rams will be playing for more than just a victory Thursday night when they host the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals (8:20 p.m. on NFL Network). According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Rams (2-2) will be looking to move above .500 for the first time since 2006, a streak that stands at 93 straight games - tied for third-longest in NFL history.

The official date the Rams last held a winning record was Nov. 4, 2006, the day before St. Louis lost, 31-17, to the Kansas City Chiefs. The loss was one of five in a row for the Rams, who ended up dropping seven of eight to fall to 5-8 overall. A three-game winning streak to end the season helped St. Louis finish 8-8.

Since then, St. Louis has only reached the .500 mark just four times, each coming in the 2010 season. That year, the Rams held records of 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 and 6-6. They finished the season 7-9.
