Not one to mince words when he's eager to get his point across, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones went on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Monday morning to talk about his displeasure with his team's slow start to the season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t believe his team is living up to expectations after four games, and he wants to talk about it.

Despite a 2-2 record, Jones has hardly been thrilled with the product on the field thus far in 2012, and firmly believes his team’s Week 5 bye came at an ideal time. From Sports Radio Interviews:
“We thought we would play better in the last three ball games. … I would say that we’re not up to expectation, but certainly at this juncture not in any way dismayed and not in any way thinking we won’t be the team that we want to be. All over the league I see a league that’s basically 2-2. … Basically it really speaks — starting the year — to how even everything is. And that’s a plus for us as we sit here at this time looking ahead.”
As far as any rumors of internal discussion that the Cowboys may shift offensive play-calling duties away from Jason Garrett, Jones immediately nixed the thought in support of his head coach:
“No there haven’t. And that’s always been the issue. I believe in a head coach being one of the coordinators. That’s debatable. I’ve had people say the head coach needs to be what I call a walk-around head coach, and that is he just looks at everything. … I like a coach being one of the coordinators, preferably the offensive coordinator.”
Rested from their bye week or not, the Cowboys will be forced to travel to Baltimore this Sunday for a tough game against a playoff-bound Ravens squad. While it may be difficult to fathom another outing quite as horrendous as Tony Romo's Week 4 performance, continued struggles on the offensive side of the ball may further infuriate Jones and his itchy trigger finger.
