Midway through Monday's game against the Texans, Jets' Mark Sanchez threw a miserable looking pass that dropped a few feet in front of Clyde Gates (wrong route?). But a few plays later Sanchez redeemed himself with a sharp 27-yard touchdown strike to Jeff Cumberland.
Texans vs. Jets: Mark Sanchez finds Jeff Cumberland for a 27-yard touchdown
Tebow time has been avoided after this Sanchez touchdown pass.

With Tebow time waiting, it was a good time to step up.
Look at Cumberland on the play -- he was covered.
Replays showed that he did hang onto the ball. He catches it, bobbles it and then pulls it in before hitting the ground. He clearly has the ball as he hits the ground. That’s a credit to Sanchez for giving him a chance to at least make a play on the ball and a credit to Cumberland --all 6’4, 360 pounds of him -- for making an athletic catch.
