The 1-6 Panthers have lost five in a row, while the 3-5 Redskins are coming off two straight losses.

The expert picks seem to favor the Washington Redskins in their Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers, but some writers do see a Carolina upset in the cards.

SB Nation’s Joel Thorman picks the Redskins to win, but predicts a 27-24 final score, meaning Washington would fail to cover the spread. Over at Yahoo! Sports, only Mike Silver picks the Panthers to win. Jason Cole, Les Carpenter and the collective Yahoo! users all pick the Redskins, though it is worth noting that Silver is leading the picks competition.
At CBS Sports, where they pick both against the spread and straight up, five writers pick the Panthers +3.5. Straight up, only three men give the Panthers a vote of confidence. The leader of the CBS picks contest, Jason La Canfora, predicts the Redskins will both win and cover the spread.
